I have the honour in accordance with Colonial

Regulation 267 to request your authority to substitute

one post of Class III Clerk, Senior Clerical and Accounting

Staff, with salary at the rate of £250 per annum rising

by six annual increments of £15, two of £30, and three of

£15 to £445 per annum, instead of one of the three new

posts of Probationers provided under Head 2, Personal

Emoluments, Senior Clerical and Accounting Staff, Attached

Officers, on page fifteen of the 1938 Estimates.

This substitution was approved when the draft

Estimates were under consideration in Committee before

submission to the Legislative Council, but the alteration

in the printed draft was overlooked. Should the

alteration involve an excess later in the year it will be covered by a Special Vote.
